We investigate the evolutionary processes involving isolated or rapidly expanding wildlife populations. We are particularly interested in specific adaptations in populations under strong selective pressures. Our main models are varied: mammals, such as wild boar, hare, wolf and otter; reptiles, such as lizard and gecko; birds, such as rock partridge and migrants. We make use of field and laboratory data and techniques such as observation, morphology and genetics. We try to realize our studies so that the results can serve as useful tools for conservation biology
